Description/Use
Embryo transfer, whether easy or difficult.
Gamma-sterilized.
Individually wrapped in a peel off poach and packaged in box of 10 units.
Technical specifications
The Cryo Bio System embryo transfer catheter comprises two different parts, each of which is independently mobile with respect to the other:
- The rigid, outer sheath is marked with graduations every centimeter up to 6 centimeters from the tip. It is to be used to position the device and can be pre-shaped (inside its packaging, if desired) to fit the patient's anatomy.
- The flexible, inner embryo transfer catheter, connected to the syringe, receives the medium which contains the embryo(s).
The presence of the graduation marks on the catheter makes it possible to align the tip of the E.T. catheter with the tip of outer sheath to give a uniform diameter for introduction, thereby reducing the risk of causing tissue damage.
Length 230 mm
External diameter 2.6 mm
Instructions for use
- Settle the patient in the lithotomic position. A full bladder is recommended for optimal transfer conditions.
- Use a speculum to see the cervix and use a swab soaked in saline solution to cleanse the local area.
- Pass the catheter to the biologist so that the embryo can be introduced according to the validated protocol (i.e. medium - air bubble - medium with embryo - air bubble - medium).
- Introduce the catheter into the cervical canal and cross the internal orifice of the cervix to place the probe 1 or 2 cm from the uterine fundus using its graduations as a guide.
- Expel the embryo and give the uterine environment time to stabilize.
- Slowly remove the catheter.
- Give the catheter back to the biologist in order to check both absence of traumatism and that the embryo does not remain inside.
- Keep the patient lying down for 15 minutes.
Shelf-life
