For cryopreservation of oocytes, embryos and biological products
Indications
Vitrification of oocytes and embryos.
Description
The HSV High Security Vitrification Kit is composed of 3 parts:
- An HSV STRAW open and flared on one end. The flared end allows for a safe introduction of the capillary tube as described below. The other end is factory sealed and weighted with a medical grade stainless steel rod, to prevent buoyancy in liquid nitrogen. The HSV STRAW should be thermal sealed using the Syms Sealer designed by Cryo Bio System.
- A capillary tube with a pre-formed gutter on one end, and the other colored end being a handling rod (white, blue, red, green, yellow or purple) for easy sample identification. The gutter end receives and protects the sample to be vitrified.
- A blue plastic insertion and removing device. The long end of the device inserts the capillary tube with the sample into the straw at the optimal depth, about 1 mm from the weighted rod clear resin plug.
Packaged in a peel-off blister pack (4 kits).
Identification
The HSV Kit can be identified by using LN2 resistant labels.
Filling, sealing and thawing
The HSV High Security Vitrification Kit is designed for cryopreservation of biological samples of human or animal origin and is ideal for use in Assisted Reproduction Technologies, particularly for cryopreservation of oocytes and embryos.
To guarantee the perfect vitrification of biological samples, the HSV Kit must be filled, sealed and thawed according to a specific protocol (see the product sheet supplied with the HSV Kit).
Storage in liquid nitrogen
Cryo Bio System carries a line of accessories for storage and management of HSV Kits in liquid nitrogen (see CBS™ visotubes, goblets and canisters).
Shelf-life
Three years from date of manufacture.
